Three things to consider for making lasting change in life for 2011

1. You have developed plans for 2011 and you are still personally charged with your decisions and you are making daily progress towards those goals you have set for 2011

2. You have developed plans for 2011 and you have lost steam. You have fallen back to old habits already and 2011 will pretty much be like 2010

3. You have not developed any plans for 2011 yet but you know deep down that you need to make some changes in your life that will have a positive effect in your future No matter where this message finds you, you are in the right place. I know that with absolute certainty One of the things that we all need no matter where we find ourselves with regard to the above three circumstances is..... FAITH!!! Here are three things to consider when it come to making lasting change in your life:

1. Faith in God - This is the starting point of ALL success. When we come to realize that everything is just the way it is supposed to be, we begin from a point that we can start to make permanent, positive change in our lives. Our life experience is about learning, is about being perfected God does things in His time. When we come to grips with this our lives change. When we come to grips with this, we start to realize that we don't have to try and control everything All we need to focus on is OUR thoughts and OUR actions. And when those THOUGHTS and ACTIONS become service oriented, our lives start to move to a different level as well. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

2. Faith in Yourself - A lot of people struggle with this. And this is also why referring to #1 is so vitally important When you realize that faith in your heavenly Father, you have powers beyond anything that you can comprehend. And when you focus your efforts humbly and with a servants mindset, you enlist the powers of your heavenly Father and He is more than happy to help you But this takes a lot of faith, and I've got to be honest with you, the cards are heavily stacked against you in this area You have governments that do not want you to have faith in anything other then them to help you. They want you to be a victim so that they maintain the power structure that they have set up for themselves You have major corporations that want you to struggle with things like your weight so they can sell you the 30 day weight loss products every January.
Once you take control of your eating and fitness habits, they lose another customer So you have to develop to the level, where no matter what happens outside of your control, your faith in God and yourself are unshakable

3. Faith in others - Not reliance in others but faith in others. And God works everything for His glory and as He is woking in your life, He is also working in the lives of others It is important to get into a group of like minded people. By nature, you will adopt the mindset of those who are closets to you. So it is important to separate yourself from those who do not share the same vision that you have for yourself. This does not mean that you will never be disappointed by those who you feel share the same vision If you are a living, breathing human being on this planet, you are flawed by nature and you will be disappointed by others and you will disappoint others BUT..... You still have to have faith that others will come to the right conclusion with your love and patience With these three things in mind, make sure to check them against your current list of goals for 2011 and if you haven't set your goals for 2011 yet or have already fallen off your list, make sure to keep these three things in mind and start taking positive action in your thinking and your actions

The Excellence (Story)

Be The Best of Whatever You Are

If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill
Be a scrub in the valley--
but be The best little scrub by the side of the rill;
Be a bush if you can't be a tree.

If you can't be a bush be a bit of the grass,
And some highway some happier make;

If you can't be a muskie then just be a bass--
But the liveliest bass in the lake!

We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew,
There's something for all of us here.

There's big work to do and there's lesser to do,
And the task we must do is the near.

If you can't be a highway then just be a trail,

If you can't be the sun be a star;

It isn't by size that you win or you fail--

Be the best of whatever you are!

Universal Prayer

O Parvardigar — the Preserver and Protector of all!

You are without Beginning, and without End,

Non-dual, beyond comparison, and none

can measure You.

You are without colour, without expression,

without form, and without attributes.

You are unlimited and unfathomable,

beyond imagination and conception,

eternal and imperishable.

You are indivisible; and none can see You,

but with Eyes Divine.

You always were, You always are, and

You always will be;

You are everywhere, You are in everything;

and You are also beyond everywhere

and beyond everything.

You are in the firmament and in the depths;

You are manifest and unmanifest, on

all planes and beyond all planes.

You are in the three worlds, and also

beyond the three worlds;

You are imperceptible and independent.

You are the Creator, the Lord of lords,

the knower of all minds and hearts;

You are omnipotent and omnipresent.

You are Knowledge Infinite, Power Infinite,

and Bliss Infinite.

You are the Ocean of Knowledge, all-knowing,

infinitely knowing, the Knower of the past,

the present, and the future, and You are

Knowledge Itself.

You are all-merciful and eternally benevolent;

You are the Soul of souls, the One with

infinite attributes.

You are the Trinity of Truth, knowledge, and

Bliss,

You are the Source of Truth, the Ocean of Love;

You are the Ancient One, the Highest of the High;

You are Prabhu and Parameshwar, You are the

Beyond-God, and the Beyond-Beyond God also,

You are Parabrahma, Allah, Elahi, Yezdan,

Ahuramazda, and God the Beloved.

Create a total life

So, how do you create a total life? Consider the following five key elements

Practice self-development

Self-development is a major theme throughout Drucker's writings and teachings. “What matters,” he said, “is that the knowledge worker, by the time he or she reaches middle age, has developed and nourished a human being rather than a tax accountant or a hydraulic engineer.” Think about your life, both as it is now and where you'd like to be. Consider not just your work, but also your family, friends, interests, activities, and pursuits. Assess what's working, what's not, and what you might want to add or subtract to create more satisfaction and fulfillment.

Identify and develop your unique strengths

The concept of core competencies may have been created for organizations, but today it applies to individuals as well. Drucker urged people to consciously articulate their own strengths. Consider what's unique about what you do, and in what areas you excel and contribute the most, both at work and outside of work. Focus on those strengths—your own core competencies—and find new ways to value and cultivate them. Odds are you can apply them to a variety of jobs, volunteer positions, and more.

Create a parallel or second career

Drucker said, “The purpose of the work on making the future is not to decide what should be done tomorrow, but what should be done today to have a tomorrow.” One unique idea he advocated was creating a “parallel career” in areas such as teaching, writing, or working in nonprofit organizations. He also encouraged developing a second career, often by doing similar work in a significantly different setting—a lawyer, for instance, might move from a traditional law firm to a legal nonprofit dedicated to a personally meaningful cause. While still in your main job, start thinking about your own possibilities for a parallel or second career. Consider how to match your values, experience, and education, and what shifts you might need to make in your life to support such changes.

Exercise your generosity

An essential part of living in more than one world, Drucker believed, is displaying a sense of generosity. Here, he said, “…everybody is a leader, everybody is responsible, everybody acts.” Sharing your time and talents by getting involved in volunteerism, social entrepreneurship, and mentoring not only provide opportunities to contribute, but also offer personal benefits, from broadening and deepening your life experience to expanding your circle of friends and colleagues. Think about what happens outside your workplace—in other industries, professions, and walks of life—and consider ways you can exercise your own generosity.

Teach and learn

Education plays a key role in Drucker's vision of a strong, functioning society. He believed that knowledge workers should never stop learning. However, it's up to them, he said, to incorporate continuous learning as a natural part of daily life— deciding what and how they'd like to learn and determining how they'll build in the time. Consider your own priorities for learning, as well as how you learn best—taking classes, reading articles and books, asking or observing others, etc. You might also want to teach. As Drucker acknowledged, “No one learns as much as the person who must teach his subject.”

Start Where You Are

Drucker's tenets can help you create a more satisfying and meaningful personal life and career. Here are seven tips for getting started:

Focus on achievement—not money

Drucker drew an important distinction between achievement and money. He suggested focusing on achievement and paying attention to how your successes, on and off the job, benefit both you and others. That doesn't mean you shouldn't or won't make money, but that the pursuit of money ought to play a subordinate role.

Make time for thinking

Thinking is hard work, and in our fast-paced society, said Drucker, it is sorely devalued. The point, he urged, is to break from the daily grind and think about where you are and where you're going. You might not have the desire or means

for Drucker's suggested “week in the wilderness,” but surely you can carve out

an hour now and then for self-reflection. Take a walk, practice yoga or meditation, or enjoy nature.

Practice “systematic abandonment”

“People are effective because they say no…because they say, ‘This isn't for me,'” declared Drucker. Practice what he called “systematic abandonment”—stepping back, at regular intervals, to determine which of your present activities can be scaled back or eliminated. Only then can you make way for something more fruitful, such as teaching, learning, or volunteering.

Volunteer your time and talent

Drucker saw volunteerism as essential to the smooth functioning of society, as well as a satisfying way of ensuring that work doesn't consume your life. Today, there are hundreds of volunteering opportunities to choose from. Drucker's recommendation was simple: Find an organization and cause you believe in—and get to work!

Become a mentor

Mentorship may be broader than just showing someone the ropes in a group or organization. It can include wide-ranging career and life advice, and as Drucker said, provide big benefits not only to the “mentee” but also to the mentor. If you've been guided by mentors of your own, pay it forward by mentoring others. If not, look for opportunities to both mentor and be mentored.

Learn the art of leisure

Drucker observed that “loafing” is easy, but “leisure” is difficult. As important as work is, avoid allowing it to be your only source of fulfillment. Find some outside interests; focus on things that may bring you pleasure, satisfaction, and a heightened sense of self-worth.

Be the CEO of your own life

Drucker saw self-management as an ongoing discipline, requiring self-knowledge, introspection, and personal responsibility. “In effect,” he said, “managing oneself demands that each knowledge worker think and behave like a chief executive officer.” Start now to think of yourself as the CEO of your own life and career. Take accountability for your decisions and actions. Know who you are, what is important to you, and how you will contribute at work and in the world.

Finally, take a deep breath and don't expect everything to happen at once. Start

where you are and move towards your total life, one step at a time.

God Bless All Mothers..Happy Mother's Day!

Simpi's Mom

Simpi's Nani and Aditya
Before I was a Mom – I made and ate hot meals. I had unstained clothing. I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom – I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom – I didn’t worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom – I had never been puked on, wet on, spit on, chewed on, or pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom – I had complete control over my thoughts, my body, my mind. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom – I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests, or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom – I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn’t want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I could not stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom – I didn’t know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn’t know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn’t know that bond between a Mother and her child. I didn’t know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom – I had never gotten up every ten minutes, in the middle of the night, to make sure that all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderfulness, or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

God Bless All Mothers..Happy Mother's Day!

Nice story... On Reservation

An Old Story:

The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and
laying up supplies for the winter.

The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or
shelter so he dies out in the cold.

Indian Version:

The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and
laying up supplies for the winter.

The Grasshopper thinks the Ant's a fool and laughs & dances & plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and
demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed
while others are cold and starving.
Many TV So Called Tej Channels show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper
next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled
with food.

The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor
Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Arund*** Roy stages a demonstration in front of the Ant's house.

Medha Patkar goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that
Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter .

Amnesty International and Koffi A**an criticize the Indiana** Government for
not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.

The Internet is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the
Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt
support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance) .

Opposition MPs stage a walkout. Left parties call for 'Bengal Bandh' in
West Bengal and Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry.
CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard
in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and
Grasshoppers.

Lalu Prasad allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway
Trains, aptly named as the 'Grasshopper Rath'.

Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the ' Prevention of Terrorism
Against Grasshoppers Act' [POTAGA], with effect from the beginning of the
winter.

Arj*n Sin*h makes 'Special Reservation ' for Grasshoppers in Educational
Institutions & in Government Services.

The Ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left
to pay his retroactive taxes,it's home is confiscated by the Government
and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.

Arund*** Roy  calls it ' A Triumph of Justice'.

Lalu Ji calls it 'Socialistic Justice '.

CPM calls it the ' Revolutionary Resurgence of the Downtrodden '

Koffi An**n invites the Grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly.

Many years later...

The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar
company in Silicon Valley,

100s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere
in India,

..AND

As a result of loosing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the
grasshoppers,
.India is still a developing country…!!!

DRINK, STEAL, SWEAR & LIE

DRINK, STEAL, SWEAR & LIE

I met this guy and he has a motto he lives by everyday. He said listen carefully and live by these four rules: Drink, Steal, Swear, & Lie.

I was shaking my head 'NO', but he then told me to listen while he explained his four rules. So here they are:

1.. "Drink" from the "everlasting cup" every day.

2.. "Steal" a moment to help someone that is in worse shape than you are.

3.. "Swear" that you will be a better person today than yesterday.

4.. And last, but not least, when you "lie" down at night thank God you live on this beautiful planet and have freedom.

I am not as good as I should be,

I am not as good as I could be,

But THANK GOD I am better than I used to be!!!

GOOD MORNING & ENJOY A LOVELY DAY AHEAD....!!!

What Is Respect?

What Is Respect?
Respect means a lot of different things. On a practical level it seems to include taking someone's feelings, needs, thoughts, ideas, wishes and preferences into consideration. We might also say it means taking all of these seriously and giving them worth and value. In fact, giving someone respect seems similar to valuing them and their thoughts, feelings, etc. It also seems to include acknowledging them, listening to them, being truthful with them, and accepting their individuality and idiosyncrasies.
